We believe Mother Nature is our world’s greatest healer. Our philosophy is that food should be your medicine.
That’s why we are on a mission to positively transform people from within through functional, living nutrition and enlightenment.
From our family, to yours.– GT’s Living Foods
Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion
GT’s Living Foods is united by employees of different strengths, experiences, and backgrounds who all share a dedicated passion for helping people live healthier, happier lives. Diversity includes race and gender identity, but also age, disability status, veteran status, sexual orientation, religion, and many other facets of one’s identity so long as everyone agrees that equity and inclusion is all of our responsibility. All of our employee’s points of view are key to our success. We aim for our differences to bring us greater understanding and strive to remain open-minded to new information that may further illuminate us.
We are happy to support TreePeople. TreePeople's mission is to inspire, engage and support people to take personal responsibility for the urban environment, making it safe, healthy, fun and sustainable and to share their process as a model for the world.
Carbon Neutral Delivery
GT’s Living Foods is also partnering with Ohi, a carbon-neutral e-commerce fulfillment service. Ohi believes in helping the world and its inhabitants thrive today, tomorrow, and well into the future. That’s why Ohi is committed to providing carbon-neutral delivery and continually reducing their platform’s carbon footprint with every available lever. Through their partner EcoCart, Ohi is able to calculate and offset the residual carbon footprint through the use of carbon offsets, allowing Ohi and their brands to offer carbon-neutral delivery.
We believe Mother Nature is our world’s greatest healer. It is humankind’s responsibility, however, to be both human and kind—to each other and to the world that sustains us. GT’s Living Foods promises to ensure our actions support our planet, to assure that we return to society what we earn and learn, and to craft the purest expression of nature’s bounty to inspire a healthier, happier humanity while implementing lasting solutions to the environmental crisis.
GT’s Living Foods is on track, over the next twelve months, to generate zero waste. The largest waste product is the raw, brewed tea and byproduct from the whole, organic ingredients used in all of our offerings. Our focus is to sustainably divert 100% of this material to composting to better the earth and enrich the soil just as everything we craft betters and enriches our bodies.
Every product GT’s Living Foods produces is contained in glass. Why? For one, nearly 100% of all glass breakage is returned to our partner glass manufacturing facility in Illinois to become new bottles and jars. And if you, too, recycle any GT’s Living Foods’ glass—your bottle or jar will, too.
When consumers choose foods or beverages that are packaged in glass, they avoid potential risks that come with plastics and other artificial materials that can be harmful to the human body and the environment while enjoying a number of benefits in return.
Glass has a nearly-zero rate of chemical interactions, ensuring that products inside glass containers, bottles, and jars keep their strength, aroma, and flavor. Glass is also 100% recyclable and can be recycled endlessly without loss in quality or purity.
Glass is certified GRAS by the FDA, or “generally recognized as safe”—the highest standard. Glass is also nonporous and impermeable, so there are no interactions between glass packaging and products—oo effect on food or beverage flavor, no after-taste—ever.
Glass is 100% recyclable and can be recycled endlessly without loss in quality or purity. Approximately 80% of recovered glass containers are made into new glass bottles, and A glass container can go from a recycling bin to a store shelf in as little as 30 days.
From Amazon, “Climate Pledge Friendly helps you discover and shop for more sustainable products to highlight products that support our commitment to help preserve the natural world. [Amazon] partnered with a wide range of external certifications, including governmental agencies, non-profits, and independent laboratories, to help us distinguish more sustainable products.
We focused on certifications that are reputable, transparent, and have a focus on preserving the natural world. We will routinely evaluate and reassess the certification landscape to ensure we include the best partners to help you shop for more sustainable products. We also created our own certification, Compact by Design, to identify products that, while they may not always look very different, have a more efficient design. With the removal of excess air and water, products require less packaging and become more efficient to ship.”
